For April 2023's Monochord Monday Meetup β our monthly free Zoom webinar for the monochord community β Annette Abraminko offered a heartfelt and informative presentation centered around the feeltone KoTaMo Concert Monochord: a 3-in-1 instrument featuring a monochord on one side and a Kotamo and Tanpura on the other.
Annette is a member of our monochord community based in Chesham, just outside of London, UK. In addition to showcasing how she plays her extensive collection of sound healing instruments in her "Sound Sanctum" space, she shared her inspiring story of self-healing and self-care through sound while living with debilitating MS and a terminal prognosis. She also discussed adaptive playing techniques for those with disabilities and offered thoughtful, inclusive perspectives on working with the physical body.
During the webinar, we played a video that Annette created especially for our group β since she was joining via smartphone, which makes it difficult to capture the quiet, resonant sound of the monochord clearly. This 15-minute guided meditation was narrated by Annette while she accompanied herself on the KoTaMo. Afterward, the group was invited (as always) to play together in their own spaces at home for 7 minutes.
You can watch the full recording of Annette's presentation β including her personal story β along with over 65 other videos in our growing Monochord Monday Meetup video library when you sign up for free to join our Monochord Monday Group on Zoom.
And since Annette made this meditation video just for our group and shared it on YouTube, you can watch the full 15-minute meditation on its own β and explore her other beautiful videos on her channel β by clicking below!
According to Annette, The Sound Sanctum is "a Safe Space in which to Open your Heart and Discover your Soul Journey."
