INTUITIVE SOUNDSCAPES COLLECTIONS

C-Major Collection

What is the C-Major Intuitive Soundscapes Collection?

The C-Major Collection is a curated set of artisan instruments, all precisely tuned to play together in C-Major — originally the highest tuning in the feeltone product line, ethereal, soaring, and luminous. A brand new Monolina XL in Low C is also now available for those seeking a deeper, more grounding version of this key. Every instrument is designed for intuitive play: there are no wrong notes. Layer tones freely, build on instruments you already own, and create immersive soundscapes without musical training.

What are the Intuitive Soundscapes Collections?

Each Intuitive Soundscapes Collection centers on the feeltone Monochord as its sonic foundation, with complementary instruments tuned to match. The result: any combination of instruments in the collection harmonizes effortlessly, freeing you to play intuitively and layer sounds without preparation or sheet music. This system also lets you expand collections you already own — simply match new instruments to your existing key.

Are the C-Major Collection instruments available in 432 Hz or 440 Hz?

Most instruments are available in both 432 Hz and 440 Hz. Chimes are only available in 432 Hz. The video above features instruments tuned to 432 Hz to match the Koshi Chimes. All feeltone Monochords can be easily tuned to your preferred pitch.

What instruments are included in the C-Major Collection?

feeltone Monolina and Monolini monochords — C-Major Collection centerpiece

What is the feeltone Monochord and why is it the foundation of the collection?

At the center of every Intuitive Soundscapes Collection is the feeltone Monochord — the Monolina and Monolini models, handcrafted in Germany. Monochords are dronal stringed instruments whose shimmering harmonics cascade like light on water, creating a meditative chord that anchors the entire soundscape. Tuned to C, the feeltone Monochord is the highest tuning in the standard product line — ethereal and soaring. A new Monolina XL in Low C is also available for those who prefer a deeper, more grounding version of this key. Like a flying carpet, the Monochord carries all other instruments upon it, harmonizing their diverse timbres of wood and metal into a unified whole.

Tinka Tong C-Major wood tongue drum by feeltone — C-Major Collection

What is the Tinka Tong C-Major?

The Tinka Tong C-Major is feeltone’s wood tongue drum, tuned to match the C-Major Collection. It produces short, light percussive tones that are earthy, warm, and grounding — a counterpoint to the ethereal sustain of the monochord. Depending on how it’s played, the Tinka Tong can sound whimsical and cheerful or activating and energizing. It is especially effective at the opening or closing of sound journeys to ground and activate the physical body.

Zenko metal tongue drum and Kigonki — C-Major Intuitive Soundscapes Collection

A note about Zenko Drums

The Zenko Drum was a beloved metal tongue drum made by our friends at Metal Sounds in France. Sadly, Metal Sounds closed their business in 2025 and Zenko Drums are no longer available. We are grateful for the years we were able to offer them as part of this collection.

What is the Kigonki Monaural Tongue-Gong?

The Kigonki is a new addition to all Intuitive Soundscapes Collections. Unlike standard tongue drums, it features eight tuned tongues on the face forming a melodic scale, plus eight matching resonating tongues on the back that vibrate in response — creating a rich, undulating sustain. The result is a deep monaural beat effect: two slightly different frequencies combine physically in the air before reaching your ears, producing a hypnotic tremolo pulse (often called “binaural beats,” this is technically a monaural beat).

Hokema Kalimbas and Sansulas — C-Major Intuitive Soundscapes Collection

Which Hokema Kalimbas and Sansulas are available in C-Major?

The C-Major Collection offers a wide kalimba selection, all handcrafted in Germany with American cherry wood and metal tines tuned to C-Major:

  • B5 Kalimba — A compact “pocket kalimba” with high-pitched tones that twinkle over the deeper instruments. Goes anywhere.
  • B7 Kalimba — Thicker tines that produce pleasing, warm low tones.
  • B9 Kalimba — A 9-note kalimba with a quiet, round, and soft voice. No wrong notes.
  • B17 & B17-Mini — 17-tine “keyboard kalimbas” also tuned to C-Major. Best suited for musicians who wish to play melodies; more musical skill required for intuitive play.
  • Sansula — B9 tines on a drum head for greater volume and a wah-wah effect. Available in Sansula Renaissance (synthetic head) or Sansula Deluxe (goat skin).
Koshi Terra and Zaphir Green wind chimes — C-Major Intuitive Soundscapes Collection

What is the difference between Koshi Terra and Zaphir Green chimes?

Both the Koshi Terra and Zaphir Green are made in France and use a dangling bead that taps metal dowels guided by a wooden sail. The Koshi is thicker and shorter with a minimalist bamboo design; the Zaphir is thinner and taller with a colorful marble-like green tube. The Zaphir Green features a slightly alternate tuning with one Ab note that adds a sweet, subtle dissonance to the chord. Playing one in each hand creates a stereo effect — slightly different tones in each ear. Koshi chimes can be held in hand, hung from a stand, or left outdoors for the wind to play. Note: chimes are only available in 432 Hz.
