Yellow Collection A-Minor instruments by feeltone and We Play Well Together

The  A-minor Collection Video — Filmed in Germany with feeltone

We Play Well Together's Creative & Community Director Joule L'Adara traveled to Germany to work directly with our instrument builder feeltone, helping create a series of videos for our Intuitive Soundscapes Collections. This post features the video for the Yellow Collection — instruments tuned to A-Minor — along with behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot.

Watch: A-minor Collection — Instruments Made to Match

Watch how a group of people co-create sonic storytelling by weaving different timbres in and out of each other — building to a dynamic interplay when all instruments sound together, then releasing back into stillness. With our matched Intuitive Soundscapes Collections, any group of musicians (or non-musicians!) can create profound sound journeys. Solo practitioners can also weave these sounds together, as all instruments are made to match.

This video is the third in a four-part series featuring the Intuitive Soundscapes Collections. A collaboration between feeltone and We Play Well Together. (Watch also: the D-Minor and C-Major Collections — with G-Major coming soon.)

Behind the Scenes: A Day on a Windy Hillside in Northern Germany

It's hard to believe it's been nearly two years since this video series was shot — with raw footage captured for all four Intuitive Soundscapes Collections within a couple of weeks. We've been slowly working through the edits and sharing them one by one.

The shoot began on a hillside meadow in the Mecklenburg region of Northern Germany:

The cast and crew schlepped instruments and recording equipment up the hill — including Joule L'Adara (traveling from the US) and feeltone founder Ingo Böhme, who was not above carrying gear himself.

Set designer Katharina Vadersen scouted the location and created the set decoration concept — flags blowing in the wind, strategically placed throughout the field:

Audio Engineer Mo brought the audio gear up in a wheelbarrow and set up a remote engineering booth powered by solar panels:

Meet the Players

The team playing instruments in this video:

  • Martina Gläser-Böhme (creator of the feeltone Monochord Training) — feeltone Monolina in A-Minor
  • Daniel Schuh (Director of Marketing, feeltone) — Hokema Sansula in A-Minor
  • Joule L'Adara (We Play Well Together Creative Director & US feeltone Trainer) — Zenko Drum Yellow Collection
  • Ingo Böhme (founder of feeltone) — feeltone Monolini
  • Katharina Vadersen (feeltone Marketing team) — feeltone Tinka Tong Yellow Collection

Director and camera operator Maik Riobort brought creative inspiration and kept the team laughing throughout the day:

And his daughter Anouk — Martina's granddaughter — danced in the wind with all her grace:

Wrapping the Series

As the last of the four Intuitive Soundscapes Collections videos to be filmed, there was much rejoicing when the day finally wrapped — bringing a week of daily video shoots to a close:

After the shoot, the team shared a picnic nestled in the tall grasses:

This DIY video series was a labor of love — planned, shot, edited, and finalized over many months. We hope it inspires you to play well together and to discover what becomes possible when all the instruments in our Intuitive Soundscapes Collections are played as one.
