Intuitive Soundscapes Collections: A-minor COLLECTION

INTUITIVE SOUNDSCAPES COLLECTIONS

Yellow Collection β€” A-Minor

Intuitive Soundscapes Collections are curated sets of artisan instruments, all precisely tuned to play together in the same musical key and elemental theme. The Yellow Collection is tuned to A-Minor β€” the second-highest tuning in the feeltone product line β€” evoking lightness, lift, and dreamy resonance.

Every instrument in this collection is designed for intuitive play: there are no wrong notes. Layer tones freely, build on instruments you already own, and create immersive soundscapes without musical training.

What Are the Intuitive Soundscapes Collections?

Each Intuitive Soundscapes Collection centers on the feeltone Monochord as its sonic foundation, with complementary instruments tuned to match. The result: any combination of instruments in the collection harmonizes effortlessly, freeing you to play intuitively and layer sounds without preparation or sheet music.

This system also lets you expand collections you already own β€” simply match new instruments to your existing key and color.

A Note on Tuning: 432 Hz vs. 440 Hz

In the video above, the Monochord is first tuned to 432 Hz to match the Koshi and Zaphir Chimes, then re-tuned to 440 Hz to demonstrate compatibility with standard-pitch instruments. Chimes are only available in 432 Hz; all other instruments come in both 432 Hz and 440 Hz. Monochords can be tuned to your preference.

The Instruments of the Yellow Collection

feeltone Monolina and Monolini monochords β€” Yellow Collection centerpiece

Monolina & Monolini by feeltone β€” The Foundation

At the center of every Intuitive Soundscapes Collection is the feeltone Monochord β€” the Monolina and Monolini models, handcrafted in Germany. Monochords are dronal stringed instruments whose shimmering harmonics cascade like light on water, creating a meditative, monochrome chord that anchors the entire soundscape.

Tuned to A, the feeltone Monochord sits in the second-highest range of the product line. Like a flying carpet, it carries all other instruments upon it β€” harmonizing their diverse timbres of wood and metal into a unified whole.

Tinka Tong Aria wood tongue drum by feeltone β€” Yellow Collection

Tinka Tong Aria β€” Wood Tongue Drum by feeltone

The Tinka Tong Aria is feeltone's wood tongue drum, newly introduced to match the Yellow Collection. It produces short, light percussive tones that are earthy, warm, and grounding β€” a counterpoint to the airy sustain of the monochord.

Depending on how it's played, the Tinka Tong can sound whimsical and cheerful or activating and energizing. It's especially effective at the opening or closing of sound journeys to ground and activate the physical body.

Hokema B5 and B9 Kalimbas and Sansula β€” A-Minor Yellow Collection

Kalimbas & Sansulas by Hokema β€” Melodic Sparkle

Hokema Kalimbas are handcrafted in Germany with American cherry wood and metal tines tuned to A-Minor. Three models are available in the Yellow Collection:

  • B5 Kalimba β€” A compact "pocket kalimba" with high-pitched tones that twinkle over the deeper instruments. Goes anywhere.
  • B9 Kalimba β€” A slightly larger, 9-note kalimba with a quiet, round, and soft voice.
  • Sansula β€” The B9 tines mounted on a drum head for greater volume and a signature "Wah-Wah" effect. Available in two versions:
    • Sansula Renaissance β€” synthetic head for durability
    • Sansula Deluxe β€” goat skin head for a warmer, more organic tone

Koshi Aria and Zaphir chimes β€” A-Minor wind chimes for sound healing

Koshi & Zaphir Chimes β€” Airy Shimmer

The Koshi Aria chime, made in France, was the original inspiration for the Intuitive Soundscapes Collections concept. A beloved sound bath essential, Koshi chimes can be held in hand, hung from a stand, or left outdoors for the wind to play.

The Zaphir Chime (golden yellow for A-Minor) is Koshi's close cousin β€” also made in France, slightly thinner and taller with a colorful marble-like tube design.

Koshi vs. Zaphir β€” what's the difference? Both use a dangling bead that taps metal dowels guided by a wooden sail. The Koshi is thicker and shorter with a minimalist bamboo design; the Zaphir is thinner and taller with a decorative tube. Playing one in each hand creates a stereo effect β€” slightly different tones in each ear.

Zenko metal tongue drum and Kigonki binaural drum β€” Yellow Collection

Zenko Drums by Metal Sounds β€” Limited Stock

The Zenko Drum is a metal tongue drum from Metal Sounds (France). Important: Metal Sounds has ceased production and our remaining Zenko inventory is limited. If you've been considering one, now is the time β€” once they're gone, they won't be restocked.

Kigonki Monaural Tongue-Gong β€” New Addition to All Collections

Kigonki Monaural Tongue-Gong β€” binaural beat effect metal instrument

We're excited to introduce the Kigonki to all Intuitive Soundscapes Collections. Unlike standard tongue drums, the Kigonki features:

  • Eight tuned tongues on the face forming a melodic scale
  • Eight matching resonating tongues on the back that vibrate in response, creating a rich undulating sustain
  • A deep, immersive monaural beat effect β€” two slightly different frequencies combine physically in the air before reaching your ears, producing a hypnotic tremolo pulse (often called "binaural beats," this is technically a monaural beat)
