Shelly Reef with feeltone Monochord and Therapy Harp

Shelly Reef: Therapy Harp + feeltone Monochord

Shelly Reef is the founder of an original training for Therapy Harp — in which she also includes feeltone Monochords. She's developed a unique one-handed playing technique that's ideal for combining the monochord with other instruments such as the therapy harp and crystal singing bowls.

In contrast to the "Flying Sound Carpet" (a two-handed technique taught in our official feeltone trainings), Shelly plays the monochord one-handed on its side, freeing up the other hand to play harps and bowls simultaneously. This is the perfect technique for anyone wanting to play monochord alongside other intuitive instruments.

Shelly was a guest on our Monochord Monday Meetup on July 20th, during which she shared her sound journey — starting with crystal singing bowls, leading to therapy harps, and then the monochord. She shares about the power of "holding Theta space" and offers a lovely demonstration of her sideways monochord playing technique layered with therapy harp and bowls.
