Intuitive Soundscapes Collections are curated sets of artisan instruments, all precisely tuned to play together in the same musical key. The D-Minor Collection is the deepest tuning in the feeltone product line — guiding the listener into the depths of emotion on slow, soothing sound waves.

Every instrument in this collection is designed for intuitive play: there are no wrong notes. Layer tones freely, build on instruments you already own, and create immersive soundscapes without musical training.

What Are the Intuitive Soundscapes Collections?

Each Intuitive Soundscapes Collection centers on the feeltone Monochord as its sonic foundation, with complementary instruments tuned to match. The result: any combination of instruments in the collection harmonizes effortlessly, freeing you to play intuitively and layer sounds without preparation or sheet music.

This system also lets you expand collections you already own — simply match new instruments to your existing key.

A Note on Tuning: 432 Hz vs. 440 Hz

The video above features instruments tuned to 432 Hz to match the Koshi Chimes. Most instruments in this collection are also available in 440 Hz, and all feeltone Monochords can be easily tuned to your preferred pitch.

The Instruments of the D-Minor Collection

Monolina & Monolini by feeltone — The Foundation

At the center of every Intuitive Soundscapes Collection is the feeltone Monochord — the Monolina and Monolini models, handcrafted in Germany. Monochords are dronal stringed instruments whose shimmering harmonics cascade like light on water, creating a meditative, monochrome chord that anchors the entire soundscape.

Tuned to D, the feeltone Monochord is the lowest tuning in the product line — deep, grounding, and emotionally expansive. It forms the foundation upon which all other D-Minor Collection instruments harmonize, blending diverse timbres of wood and metal into a unified whole.

Tinka Tong D-Minor — Wood Tongue Drum by feeltone

The Tinka Tong D-Minor is feeltone's wood tongue drum, tuned to match the D-Minor Collection. It produces short, light percussive tones that are earthy, warm, and grounding — a counterpoint to the deep sustain of the monochord.

Depending on how it's played, the Tinka Tong can sound whimsical and cheerful or activating and energizing — even in a minor key. It's especially effective at the opening or closing of sound journeys to ground and activate the physical body.

Kigonki Monaural Tongue-Gong — New Addition to All Collections

Unlike standard tongue drums, the Kigonki features:

• Eight tuned tongues on the face forming a melodic scale
• Eight matching resonating tongues on the back that vibrate in response, creating a rich undulating sustain
• A deep, immersive monaural beat effect — two slightly different frequencies combine physically in the air before reaching your ears, producing a hypnotic tremolo pulse (often called "binaural beats," this is technically a monaural beat)

Kalimbas & Sansulas by Hokema — Melodic Sparkle

Hokema Kalimbas are handcrafted in Germany with American cherry wood and metal tines tuned to D-Minor. Three models are available in the D-Minor Collection:

• B5 Kalimba — A compact "pocket kalimba" with high-pitched tones that twinkle over the deeper instruments. Goes anywhere.
• B9 Kalimba — A slightly larger, 9-note kalimba with a quiet, round, and soft voice.
• Sansula — The B9 tines mounted on a drum head for greater volume and a signature "Wah-Wah" effect. Available in three versions:
  • Sansula Basic — paper head for a delicate, intimate tone
  • Sansula Renaissance — synthetic head for durability
  • Sansula Deluxe — goat skin head for a warmer, more organic tone

Koshi & Zaphir Chimes — Shimmering Depth

The Koshi Aqua chime, made in France, was the original inspiration for the Intuitive Soundscapes Collections concept. A beloved sound bath essential, Koshi chimes can be held in hand, hung from a stand, or left outdoors for the wind to play.

The Zaphir Blue is Koshi's close cousin — also made in France, with a royal blue tube design. The Zaphir Blue features a slightly alternate tuning with one Ab note that adds a sweet, subtle dissonance to the chord.

Koshi vs. Zaphir — what's the difference? Both use a dangling bead that taps metal dowels guided by a wooden sail. The Koshi is thicker and shorter; the Zaphir is thinner and taller with a colorful decorative tube. Playing one in each hand creates a stereo effect — slightly different tones in each ear.
