Bilateral Self-Soothing on Monochord

Marina Perdos was our special guest in March 2025 as part of our "Monochord Monday Meetup" series who joined us live from Ohio.

Marina spent decades in nursing and has worked in emergency rooms, in hospice as well as being a trained practitioner of many alternative healing modalities.

She shows us a playing technique she originally started using the Monolini so that she could double the playing face of the overtone strings to make up for the Monolini's smaller size face. However, this technique is perfect to use for the larger Monolina too and has an incredible bilateral self-soothing effect.

Marina Perdos PhD, RN, Ayurvedic Practitioner, BCTMB, LMT, CCA-AP, CCMHt, CYT -750, Sound Healing Therapist, Reiki Master-Teacher, Celestial Herbalist, is the owner of Natural Healing Therapies located in Ohio.

A preventative holistic healthcare practice, Natural Healing Therapies stemmed from an interest over 30 years ago to help reduce and create stress management programs and implementation with those who suffer from mental health, addictions, and in hospice and who require palliative care. Marina's concern and passion went beyond the patient and included support and utilization for their family members and caregivers.

In her practice, Marina specializes in custom therapies using the 5 elements of nature and 5 senses. She has empowered individuals of all ages, from teaching newborn and infant massage techniques to compassionate care aiding in the transition for the end of life.

Marina has used yoga in combination with ayurvedic knowledge / principles for keeping her own family's health and vitality (ojas), along with her own well-being since 1982. She received her Ayurveda Practitioner’s certification in 2018, specializing in nutrition and digestive issues.
