On February 24th, 2025, we met up online with a very special guest who joined our Monochord Monday Meetup live from Lisbon, Portugal: Mallika Paritosh. Originally from Argentina, Mallika began as a classical pianist in the conservatory who later found her freedom of expression as a multi-instrumentalist traveling the world as a musical artist, researcher, teacher, and event producer. In this edited video, Mallika shares with us about her journey in music and inspires us to find "sound intimacy."

This past summer, We Play Well Together's Creative Community Director Joule L'Adara traveled to Germany to work directly with our instrument builder the feeltone Company, helping to create a series of videos for our new Elemental Soundscapes instrument collections.
Since 2020, Sound Artist Joule L'Adara has been the Creative and Community Director at WE PLAY WELL TOGETHER, bringing her unique vision to the Elemental Soundscapes Water Collection.
This series showcases a harmonious selection of musical instruments, inspired by natural elements and designed for intuitive play. In the inaugural 10-minute video, Joule introduces the WATER Collection instruments, all tuned to a D-minor scale, demonstrating how they complement each other in sound meditations, therapy, or artistic settings.
The video features instruments like the Monolina D Monochord and Tinka Tong Aqua from feeltone, various Kalimbas by Hokema Kalimbas, and Zenko Element Aqua by Metal Sounds, among others, including a Quartz Crystal Singing Bowl to illustrate the synergy between these instruments.
A second, sound-only video provides a 4-minute demonstration on layering these instruments for solo sound artistry, highlighting the Monolina D and suggesting vocal additions.
The final 8-minute video offers an in-depth look at the Elemental Soundscapes concept, detailing the collections' intended audience, usage, and tuning specifics, encouraging viewers to explore the Water Collection further.
The World Drum Club at We Play Well Together features the collaboration of Kalani and Brandon, both know for their percussion sessions.
Their work combinesΒ various rhythms and engaging presentation. The duo's approach has Β been noted for offering both entertainment and educational insights, reflecting We Play Well Together's focus on musical innovation and community engagement.
For our April 2023 Monochord Monday Meetup, Annette Abraminko from Chesham, UK, shared a deeply moving and educational presentation on the feeltone KoTaMo Concert Monochord, a versatile instrument combining a monochord, Kotamo, and Tanpura.
Through a video made specifically for the webinar, Annette, living with MS and a terminal prognosis, opened up about her journey of self-healing and care through sound therapy in her "Sound Sanctum" space. She also discussed adaptive techniques for players with disabilities, fostering an inclusive approach to music.
Participants were then invited to engage in a collective play session, further enriching the community experience. Annette's story, along with over 65 other informative videos, can be explored in our Monochord Monday Meetup library, accessible for free to group members.
We're excited to announce a new Livestream series for 2023, featuring our friend Kalani Das from the WORLD DRUM CLUB on YouTube. Kickstarting this series, a recent livestream showcased Kalani playing our instruments alongside a live looper. This collaboration is set to continue with a monthly livestream event, offering our audience and customers unique interactive opportunities.
The first session in this series, happening on Sunday, January 29th, will see Kalani joined by We Play Well Together's Joule L'Adara. They'll dive into the instruments played in the initial video, provide live demonstrations, and host a Q&A segment for any questions about playing intuitive instruments.
Mark your calendars for the last Sunday of each month to catch these special livestreams on our YouTube Channel and Facebook Page. This initiative is part of our ongoing collaboration with Kalani, aimed at enhancing our connection with the community and sharing the joy of music. Whether you're interested in Koshi Chimes, Zenko Drums, Tinka Tongs, Kalimbas, feeltone Monochords, or more, these sessions promise a wealth of musical exploration.
If you can't join live, no worriesβthe recordings will be available on our YouTube Channel and Facebook Page. We're looking forward to playing well together with you in 2023!
Let's start the day with a soothing Monolina Meditation. Join Chelsea Caroline for an 11-minute ASMR journey, exploring the serene sounds of the Monolina D tuned to 432 Hz.
The monochord, including our 34-string Monolina and 21-string Monilini models from feeltone, showcases its versatility and the wide range of creative expressions it enables. Despite its simplicity, the instrument offers a mesmerizing experience, especially when its dreamy drones are combined with hypnotic rhythms and melody accent notes, as Chelsea beautifully demonstrates.
Dive into this tranquil session with Chelsea, who not only introduces us to the Monolina Monochord's rich harmonic possibilities but also immerses us in a rhythmic exploration. Whether you choose to watch the visual journey or simply close your eyes and listen, this video is a perfect way to gently awaken and find peace.

I just took the week-long monochord training with Joule and fell in love with my Monolina. Joule is a fun, engaging and knowledgeable teacher who brings deep reverence to her instruments and the art of playing them. We got to experiment with and experience all the different ways of expressing through our monochords and came away with a proven, complete and beautiful 45-minute session we can now offer. I highly recommend this class.
I am new to the Monolina world but have been around stringed instruments all my life. I'm so excited about its possibilities as a solo instrument for use in Reiki, as well as in an ensemble setting. It helps me to meditate as well.
We have a full set of crystal bowls, and the low C monochord adds a wonderful depth to their sounding. I also find myself humming/singing over the low C drone in a quite natural way. Very happy with my new instrument.
