feeltone Tambura Monochord = Octave monochord with a Tambura - double sided
The feeltone Tambura Monochord MO-54MT is a rare and extraordinary instrument that combines two of the world’s most meditative sound traditions in a single handcrafted body: the Western overtone monochord and the Indian tambura. Made in Germany from cherry and ash wood, it is designed for professional sound healers, overtone singers, and musicians seeking the deepest possible sonic foundation for their practice.
On one side, 30 bass strings produce the rich, shimmering drone of a concert monochord. On the other, 20 overtone strings cascade with pure harmonics. Four tambura strings (D, D, D, B) are plucked to add the characteristic buzzing resonance of classical Indian music — activated by pushing small jiva threads beneath the strings, bringing the tambura to life with its ancient, meditative hum.
The result is a soundscape of extraordinary depth: the spherical overtone world of the monochord, enriched by the delicate, buzzing warmth of the tambura. Fixed tuning in D (can be tuned down to Vedic C#).
