Four natural wood Chimes, one harmonious sound journey

The Koshi Wood Symphony Set (also known as “Earth Symphony”) brings together four handcrafted chimes with walnut, oak, cherry, and maple resonating chambers.

Each chime has its own melody and tonal character, yet all four share a 440 Hz reference tuning and a naturally compatible harmonic architecture.

Each wood chamber contributes a distinct tone: walnut is warm and resonant, oak is deep and focused, cherry is clear and fluid, and maple is open and sustained. The four tunings are designed to work well together, while each chime can also be played individually for meditation, sound sessions, musical arrangements, or simple listening.

The complete set  is tuned to 440hz and includes

  • Walnut: (“Mountain”) Warm E-major melody with a grounded, spacious resonance
  • Oak: (“Forest”) Deep F♯-minor melody with a contemplative character
  • Cherry: (“River”) Flowing G♯-minor melody with a sense of movement and renewal
  • Maple: (“Ocean”)Expansive pentatonic B-major melody with a broad, welcoming resonance

Crafted for rich, lasting resonance

  • Set of four Koshi chimes
  • 12 hand-tuned steel rods in each chime
  • Sympathetic resonators that add depth and sustain
  • Brass and coconut-shell clappers
  • Plastic-free construction
  • Handcrafted at the foot of the French Pyrenees

Hold a chime by its cord and turn your wrist gently for a cascading melody, swing it like a pendulum for individual tones, or suspend it where a soft breeze can bring it to life. Combine two, three, or all four to shape a soundscape that moves from grounded stillness to open, flowing resonance.

When in a sound bath or sound meditation should you play a Koshi Chime?

While many sound facilitation trainings teach students to play Koshi Chimes at the end of a sound experience, in our trainings we actually recommend they're best to play at the BEGINNING of a sound journey!

Why? Because the twinkling sounds of the Koshi Chimes beckon the listener into a magical realm, calling you into a beautiful, introspective and dreamlike space. They are what we refer to as "Door Opener Instruments" - as they serve as sonic portals to enter a new landscape.

To bring people out of a sound bath, we recommend more actively melodic instruments like kalimbas or Tinka Tongs. While playing Koshi Chimes at the end of a sound experience doesn't cause harm, they may cause listeners to want to linger in the dreamscape rather than returning into everyday consciousness.

And we've tested out these Koshis with their warm twinkles and can attest that they are super dreamy...
