With its fine woods, the Premium Monochord is a real eye-catcher among monochords.

The Premium Monolina Monochord Ebony & Ivory is a particularly elegant instrument, inspired by Paul McCartney's hit ‘Ebony and Ivory’. Ebony and ivory have long been the materials used for the keys of pianos and grand pianos. They also represent the polarised world, the balance of male and female forces as symbolised in Yin and Yang. Of course, we do not use the protected ivory and the rare ebony. The body of this particularly valuable Monolina is made of wenge and maple. The instrument is somewhat heavier due to the wood and therefore has an even more intense sound. The frame, single bridges and u-stand are made of wenge; the handles and the soundboard are made of maple.

Premium Monolina Monochord - Ebony & Ivory at a glance:

Monolina Monochord MO-34 with 34 strings

Practical feeltone transport bag

Small u-stands and handles in maple, protective mats

2 Santoori and 2 felt mallets

Skype/ZOOM introduction

34 strings: 24 overtone strings, 5 bass strings and 5 fifth strings

Melody section with 5 single bridges and template for minor or major sound

Woods used: wenge (Millettia laurentii), maple (Aceraceae)

5 different tunings: D, F, G, A, C

Size: 72 x 33 x 11 cm

Weight: 2.7 kg

Small, light, handy - perfect for travelling

Accessories: Incl. 5 single bridges, pentatonic major and minor template, tuner, tuning key, replacement strings, monochord scarf

Biologically treated with hard wax oil

Made in Germany

Further information

Need Help setting up your instruments here is a Beginners guide for you

We offer IRL and online trainnings

Join our free Monochord Monday Zoom events to meet up with our community.

Monochord sound examples - Which tuning suits you?

Which tuning or fundamental tone of the monochord suits you best is very personal.
